Interacting with Channels
1. What does the channel rating represent?
Channel rating represents popularity of the channel on Yaika!
Channel rating is automatically calculated. The following parameters are used in order to calculate your rating: total amount of users who watched your channel, total duration of channel broadcasts, total amount of comment added to the broadcasts of the channel, amount of tags etc.
2. Can I change my channel rating?
Channel rating is calculated automatically. The only way to increase your rating is to have an active channel with interesting content and attract viewe
3. What is the difference between comments and chat?
You can only chat during a live broadcast, and the history will be deleted after the authors stopped streaming.
Comments can be added and viewed at anytime, by any registered users.
4. Who can use chat?
Registered users only.
5. Who can add comments?
Registered users only.
6. I am unable to comment during live broadcasting.
If you are not a registered user, then you need to register in order to add comments. However, if the problem still persists, try to delete your browser's cache and cookies, re-launch your web browser, and login to Yaika! If the problem still persists, please contact our support centre.
7. How do I edit or delete a comment I made on someone else's broadcast?
You can only delete your own message by click the "Delete" button next to the message. However, if you decide to delete your comment, all replies to it will also be automatically deleted.
The author of the channel can deleted any comments left on their channel.
8. Why can’t I use features on Yaika!, what should I do?
All registered users can access all available features on Yaika! However, guests do not have permission to:
- Create own channels and broadcasts;
- Add comments on a broadcast;
- Create own network of users;
- Follow a channel;
- Use the message centre
9. I made a comment during a broadcast, but it hasn’t appeared. What should I do?
There is a slight delay between when a comment was posted and when it appeared on the feed page.
10. How do I remove a comment from one of my broadcasts?
As a channel author you have the permission to delete any comments made during your broadcast.
Click the "Delete" button next to the message you would like to delete. Please note that you'll also delete any replies made to that comment.
11. How do I control comments made during live broadcast?
Any registered users can add comments and chat during your broadcast.
As the author of the channel you can delete any comments added.
The only thing you have to do is to press the "Delete" button next to the comment you want to delete. Please note that you will also delete any replies made to that comment.
12. How do I comment during broadcast?
Just press “Post a comment” or “Reply” button to add a comment during a broadcast.
13. Does Yaika! put any limit on my comments?
Yes, the maximum length is 1000 symbols.
14. Can I change the order in which comments appear?
Yes, you can change the order of comments. Default order is last comment on top.
Press “Oldest on top” to change the order of comments.
Interacting with Other Users
15. What are the different ways I can contact other Yaika! users?
There are 2 ways you can interact with other users on Yaika!:
Broadcast comments or call-ins;
Private messages (Video, audio and text messages).
16. How do I send a private message to another user?
You can use Yaika! Message Centre for that, and the best part is that the person doesn’t have to be registered on Yaika! Start by clicking Message Centre icon on the top menu bar. Choose if you would like to send a video, audio or a text based message.
Select the contact you would like to send the message to from your contact list and/ or write the e-mail address of a person who is not registered with Yaika!. Now just press the "Send" button and your message is on its way!
Please note that the total duration of video and radio messages cannot exceed 30 minutes. If have used up your limit, then you can buy additional time or delete old messages from one of your folders.
17. Can I send a private message to a person who is not a registered user of Yaika!?
Yes, you can send private messages to people who are not registered on Yaika! However, the person will need to register to view the message.
Please note that the person has to use the same email address you sent the message to in order to view it.
18. How do I search FOR users on Yaika!?
You can use our search function which is located on the right top hand corner of every page. Write a persons nickname and select to search “by people”. Search result will contain a list of users whose nickname fits your search criteria.
19. What does it mean to be another user's Contact on Yaika!?
After a user adds you to his contact list you will be able to view broadcast, which have “My network” permission level. You will also be able to send private messages to each other.
20. How do I invite my friends to join Yaika!?
You can use our “Build your network” function to invite your friends. Just enter your login details to you email account (Yahoo, Gmail or Hotmail only) and we will pull you contact list from there. Then you just select the people you would like to send the invite to, and press send.
Follow these steps:
1. Log in and open your home page;
2. Press “Build your network” button;
3. Enter your account name and password;
4. Press Next;
5. Select friends from you contact list;
6. Press "Preview" button if you would like to look at the invitation email f invitation message that will be sent to your friends;
7. Press “Edit text” to change the invitation message.
8. Now just press, “Send invitation” to invite your friends.
After your friends register with Yaika! they will be automatically added to your contact list.
21. How do I delete one of my contacts?
To delete a contact from My network or Contact list, follow these steps:
Log in and open your Home page.
Press “Show all” next to connections and it will take you to “My networks” page. Filter all contacts from the drop-down menu and only members of your network will be displayed;
Drag your mouse to the avatar of the person you wish to disconnect. Wait until the user information box appears.
Click the "Disconnect" button.
22. How do I accept/reject a “connection” invitation from another user?
When a user adds you to their contact list you will receive a system notification in your Message Centre:
If you activated automatic accept of contact request, then you will receive a message that the user was added to your network.
If you haven’t activated this function then you will a message with the user’s nickname and a link. Click on user’s nickname to view the person’s profile. To accept the connection request, you have to click the second link in the e-mail.
23. Where I can see when I received new message?
The Message centre icon will blink if you have aNY new messages.
25. I'm unable to send or receive private messages. What should I do?
Try to delete your browser's cache and cookies, re-launch your browser, and login back in to Yaika!
